how do i play a downloaded file?

I just downloaded a save file off of the internet (actually off of this site) and i was wondering how do i play it? i know it sounds stupid but i cant figure it out please help!

nvm i think i got it just changed it to bic format

scratch that! I can play the game but when it comes up there is just a blank screen with an "x" and an "o" when i hit the "o" it takes me to the world customization screen, and then i wont be playing an earth game, but a random map! when i hit the "x" it just closes out. can someone please tell me how to play Quintillus' conquest of thw world map? I need help
