How do I Propose the UN Resolutions?

uh, it normally pops up on screen, in the same manner that you get prompted whether or not you want to keep or raze a city when you take it over.

Well, the vote for the Secretary General always pops up on screen, and I always win.

I want to initiate a vote for Free Religion, Single Currency, etc. How do I initiate those votes as the UN SG?

TIA!

You must first elect a secretary general... then a couple turns later it should prompt the secretary general (you, in this case) "Do you want to make a proposal?", or something like that. Then... voila! Instant propositions!

Tangent: I suggest the UN Resolution mod, which allows you more global civics than the liberal-democracy route. For instance, if you were so inclined, you could propose Global Theocracy, Global Slavery, and so on.

I think a tenure as Secretary General lasts for 8 turns, with 2 resolutions able to be proposed before another election is held.

I second the motion. :D

Haha @ puglover.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I may be misunderstanding the UN Secretary General elections. I've read that a simple majority defines the SG. After each election I had the most votes, but not enough to meet the requirement.

Is the requirement something new in 1.52? I had the impression from reading the manual that there was no requirement for the SG election, as opposed to the other resolutions which required 60 or 66% approval.

Thanks again.

Yourself alone can't usually win by diplomacy. Sometimes, other people just like to abstain their votes.

Your allies need to vote for you so you have majority and the requirement.

Its easy to win without the votes of others. Just drop fat stacks of ICBMS on the largest cities of your opponents the turn b4 the vote. You can have more votes than your opponents or just make sure they have less ... :nuke:

I wondered the same thing for awhile. The game prompts you about voting. There is no button that you need to push or anything. It comes up after a set number of turns.

You do raelize nukes have been toned down severly?
