How do I use these Catapults?

Hello. This is a stupid newbie question, but I can't seem to find out how to use these catapults.

Somehow they are supposed to help normal attacking unit like warriors. I tried to use a warrior that was in company with a catapult, but there was no extra effect or easier win.

Most People use them to bombard Tiles, Units or Cities.
If you´ve got the Catapult activated click on the Upmost Button (the Button with the bent Arrow which looks like the Trajectory of a Mortar-Grenade).
The Tiles around your Catapult should now be framed in Red. Click on any of the framed Tiles and the Catapult fires at the Tile.

Ohhh....I didn't think about that there were buttons there. Stupid me...I am too used to civ2.
