I dont think BC is an option. Option B requires two cites on both tiles with a B. Option C requires two cities with one city on each C tile. I think I have interpreted this correctly. It is a little confusing.

I like C as determined for the first city, but stand with many of the others that the second city location is too early to call. Since C1(let's call it.....) has far more approval than A1 or B1, I am wondering if we can still use this poll to gain a consensus on that location from those that chose Other(except protesters, of course) if we remove the second city vote.

With the gameplay session mere hours away, would the Abstainers agree with Spot C(far west) if we were only choosing one location?

Well, since I have not voted and I have abstained. I just might cast my vote for site C. .

Personally, if we are to build a city at B or C, this is my humble opinion, we should at least move the warrior NW to see if we are getting a harbor there later on, as that may affect how large the producton center will be. Regardless I would go for location B, as Cyc requested, or NW of where we stand as Blackheart requested, we simply need to go NW in order to see if the new city location will get a future harbor or not.

So my bids would be alternative B or 1 tile SW of alternative B (NW of where we stand)

You DO know that any city planted there won't grow much... if not past size 5. (Look at the desert). Site B is the best of those 4. Let's explore more of the lands. Our 2nd city should be productive. Let's worry about gems later. We don't need them right now, nor will we need them until the late ancient era (we should be expanding, keeping our cities below the size-3 threshold.). Remember Russia in DG4? They crippled themselves with poor city placement. (hopefully we won't build the pyramids right off the bat).

There should be a fifth option, the one Blackheart recommended, but that requires us to move warrior NW to see if we get a coast there. If there is no coast for that aleternative, no question that alternative B is better.

You're right CT. Site B is the best. It will grow, and way beyond a 5. I'm sure it would turn into a great city.

Actually, Cyc, this poll only asks how we want to settle the Gems. There is no dialogue that I can see which dictates that this is the poll to choose our next city.

Therefore, I request that if a Settler be built during the next turnchat, then we stop play right there.

I think we should only setle the tile marked BC, looks like it will get a floodplain If my eyes are correct, all the others would be horribly low on food.

I also demand further exploaration before the final decision.

Also, we shouldn't settle this first, this is only Monarch so the AI won't get there so fast even if we settle much more productive sites before this one, which would basicly be only a small colony town for grabbing the lux...

Not really until we have a better government, it wouldn't have any food bonuses or stuff, only plain grassland and some hills and forests... would require lots of workers to get it to be productive... site BC would grow much faster.
