How do you do PBEM?

Ok so me and some friends are starting a PBEM game. I created the game without a problem and set them all up as Human players (there are 4 of us total). I set the rest of the civs to Computer>Random and started the game. I took my turn and then a message popped up telling me to email the saved game to the next player which I did.

The problem is that when he loads up the game he sees the end of my turn and it doesn't ask him for a password for his civ like it did me. He then takes his turn and the game then moves on to the 34d guy's turn but it gives this first guy the chance to move the 3rd guys units!!! He's loading the game just by opening up PTW and selecting Load Game. Is there something else that needs to be done? Does the fact that I renamed the save game email before I sent it to him effect things?

Thanks,

Well since no-ne else has replied, I will. I'm playing in quite a few pbem games and I've never observed that kind of thing.

The only thing I can think of is that someone has exited without saving rather than going via the save and exit routine. Strange things can happen if you just save before proper end of your turn and email that save onwards.

I am having similar problems. My friends and I are on the 1.14f patch. I have had cases where I start the game and PTW no longer thinks its PBEM, and I can play turn after turn. To remedy this, I exit the game, reload, and play the PBEM game first.

However, just last night we had a situation where after my firend played his turn, it would say to him "your turn is over, send to next player", and when I load it into my computer, it asks for his password. I think it may be related to reusing the same name. So now we are trying using the default name provided when you save, to see if it helps.

I need to look around in this website more, the answer may be here.
