ive gotten them before. i ususally use them to hurry The Pyrimids in ancient times, Sun TZu's Art OF War in the middle ages (which is very useful) and some scientific improvements like Newton's University. But does anyone know exactly how you get one?

be the first to research a tech and get lucky. there is a 3% chance if you are the first to research a tech that isn't known by anyone. That chance is 5% if you are a scientific civ.
You can also get one for researching philosophy and getting that free tech, though you can't get them from huts - at least, I have never gotten one.

Scientific Great Leaders are only in Conquests. In Vanilla/PTW, you only get Military Great Leaders.

funny story. After I got conquests, I played a game as china, cause I had heard they were a great conquest civ.

AT - I did the same thing with the military leader.
I just sent them back to my capital city for some reason and let them sit there without doing anythinig with them.

On that note, among the Scientific civs I play, Babs do seem to get more SGLs. Ottomans get very little. Comparison? In one game, as Babs I got a total of 7 the whole game (space victory, long game) while as Ottomans in another, I got one in early IA (abandoned due to boredom).
