Just took over a City State on another landmass as Asika, but no credit for the achievement :(

According to steam 3.3% of people have it.

Is there a minimum size that other landmass has to be?
Or does it require playing on a map type other than Archepello?

Many Steam achievements don't fire until the end of the game, perhaps it will fire then...

I have it, but I got it a long time ago, and can't remember how it fired...

Those are the "Win the game" ones [as civ X] / on a ___ map / on ___ difficulty level / by ___ method.

The rest of the achievements I've always gotten credit for immediately upon reaching them. (In some cases several hundred years before winning in the game as that civ.)

War Canoe Attack
As Askia, conquer a city on another CONTINENT.

I am not 100% sure but I think Archepellago has only islands, so you have to play on continents map to get the achievement.

I've found there are some that are not "win the game ones" that fire at the end of the game, and others that don't show at all (but you still get the achievement)... most, however, fire when you get them. One or two still seem to be broken, like "Win as Samoa"... I've won as Samoa 3 times, and it's still not fired...

Just took over my second city overseas in this game, this time it unlocked the achievement.

There are three possible variables as this is an Archepello map:

1. I look over one of Russia's cities instead of a city state.

2. Catherine has a second city on this landmass. (Personally I would not have founded that second city and plan to raze it, but that's neither here nor there)

3. This was a direct amphibious assault instead of landing the previous turn and then attacking. (I was able to devote more naval power on this assault)
