How do you make maps?

I would like to make a map of the Falkland Islands, I'm new to Civ III and have seen that other persons have created beautiful maps of the World or other regions of the planet, I just wanted to do one myself.

there should be an icon in your civ directory named civ3 editor

Yea, use the Editor. Check it out and start adding your own terrain. Too bad we still can't make scenarios in Civ 3 - one of the '82 Falklands War would be interesting. Someone once did one for Civ 2. Oh yea, here it is:

I wanted to make a Middle East map by using the cut and copy tools in the editor but the editor says the options are simply not there...

Maybe in the next editor, due out after getting OKed by QA.

No way to block anything so it would be hard to mark things to copy
