How do you uninstal new patch?

Can anyone explain? I'm having problems with the 61 or whatever, and want to revert back to v152. The 152 installer says I need to uninstal the new patch, any ideas guys?

I would just remove the game entirely, reload and download the last patch you want to use. I don't think you can uninstall a patch once it has been executed.

You could also try the windows add/remove programs. The new patch might have come with it's own uninstaller. I kind of doubt it though and think you also will have to do a uninstall/reinstall/repatch to 1.52.

Elponitnatsnoc, this is probably the directory into which you put the downloaded patch executables. The corrections the patch makes are irreversible because they literally replace executables and scripts.

The only feasible solutions would be to transfer an older version of the scripts to replace the newer one, and copy the old executable. Else, you can just reinstall.

Add remove programs may work....anyways I've noticed alot of people having problems with the game after installing 1.61...don't know why because I did'nt. The only problem I had was changing the name of certain XML files in a mod I play alot.

I'd just reinstall the game like the previous poster said.

After uninsttalling from the Start/Settings/Control Panel...Add Remove Programs

Delete Crogram Files/Firaxes folder then reinstall the game. Patch 1.61 works great! Good Luck

PS: I know some people think it's a hassle reinstalling/installing...but it only takes 10 minutes...For many hours of enjoyment,well worth it!

Uninstall game, reinstall game, apply older patch. Just find something quick to do to occupy yourself while doing it and it'll all be over soon.

If you are having problems and have installed mods in the past you should remove or rename the Civ4 folder under My Games. Most 1.52 mods are not compatible with 1.61.

I have a phone connection. So, move the patches from the MyGames/CivIV/Patchses folder. Somewhere outside the game folders. Reinstall the game. Put 1.09 or 1.52 back into the Patches folder. Then start the game and it will update itself.

If you're having problems with 1.61 try a clean install, getting rid of any mods in your folders. Most people who have issues get things fixed that way. And this patch breaks most mods, so you'll have to add them later afterwards to see whether they still work.
