How does one get over 100g per turn in mid game

The thing that I am wondering is, how to keep increasing.

I have a fair grasp of economics in Civ 5. playing a game as China, King, Pangea, Large map, Low water. At the time I was in the medieval age, I had around 11 cities and around +300 GPT outside my golden age (around +450 GPT in a golden age).

Right now, I am in the future era with around 45 cities (about 30 of those are puppets) and I am around +200 GPT outside a golden age.

My problem... costs for hurrying increase a lot through the ages, but I can't seem to get my budget a lot higher. All my puppets have almost only trading posts (I can disband around 10 workers soon, so that would help a lot) so they didn't build a lot and most are building stadiums atm (my last war against Egypt dropped my happiness from +7 to -36 and it took me quite a lot of money to bring it back up to above -10 again). Also, my army isn't huge... Demographics show around 250k soldiers, but I can't lower it because my biggers neighbour has around 280k soldiers and rising.

How do I increase my budget drasticly?

I'd probably say when it gets to certain point all you can do is cut costs, or failing that expand, either by annexing some of those puppets or settling new cities. I would personally annex any good puppets you have and consider razing any junk ones.

If you can put some of those to specifically work gold tiles along with building all the economic buildings, it should be enough to give you a good boost.

Cost cutting social policies may also help if you don't already have them, like the building maintenance cut in order, and the commerce tree. Those can have a huge impact with a large empire.

By cutting expenses.

This . You cant build buildings you dont really need , you cant have a large standing army , you cant have loads of workers and scouts .

My first game on prince i was skint and moaned alot about money . Every game after that i been fairly rich . Personally i think there should be more money in the game so we can build more and have larger armies but there isnt so you have to limit spending , especially early on.

Build lots of trading posts, establish trade routes, build your money-bossting buildings, and grow your cities large - that's the basis of the economy that you and the AI both have. For stuff the AI could do but usually doesn't - make friends with Maritime city-states so that your cities grow without lots of farms, sell lots of luxuries (a friendly AI will give 10gpt each), sell extra strategic resources for gold. You need to pay careful attention to the number of buildings and units you make, the AI cheats on that by getting severely reduced maintenance costs.

Try playing China and make papermakers in each city and use tradeposts. I have been at +100-250g most of the game (without being in Golden Age).

Exactly !! I'll add that a Maritime CS or two are very useful so you spam TP rather than farms. The +4G for papermakers is bordering on OP I think.

I had about 500gpt on 7 cities and 7 puppets (I went with a gold-heavy build where I bought a lot of buildings instead of producing) by the end of the game, probably half that around renaissance age.
