Just a want a simple civ, no custom icons, custom text or anything, just use england as template

Civ name: Foresters
Civ trait: sacred ironwood - all archery units can attack twice, cities gain +1 science for each forest tile in territory
Unique unit: ironwood ship - normal frigate but does not require iron to build, gains experience 50% faster
Unique building: woodworkers guild - replaces workshop, grants a 30% boost to production

How long would this take to make, i have no experience with coding, so if anyone can help with this.

Edit: so been playing around with modbuddy and was able to figure out somethings
however cannot get the civ to show up in the game, any help?

Yeah, this is doable. Broken, boring, and generally lacklustre, but it's definitely something that can be made. =]

No need to be nice.
Also, welcome to the forums! Enjoy your stay! :goodjob:

You should open a thread in the main creation and customization forum.

Well not everyone has someone else to do their coding for them ;) stuff done in xml is generally going to be fairly plain so unless you're volunteering to do some lua for this guy there's no need to be rude ;)

The design is bad. There is zero synergy between the various bonuses. Giving all archery units Logistics is OP as all get-out, and yet the UU is a Frigate replacement. If you'll permit me to do so, I'll take this opportunity to produce a better design for this Civ, focused on the Forest use. Here goes nothing...

The Foresters (Insert Leader Here)
Start Bias: Forest
Capital: Wherever these chaps come from.
UA: Green Wanderers
Gain a small Science boost from improving Forest and Jungle Tiles. Land Ranged Units start with the Woodsman promotion and do extra damage when attacking.
UU: Old Oak Ranger (replaces Crossbowman)
Starting with both Accuracy and Barrage I, the Old Oak Ranger is a deadly attacker, since unlike the Crossbowman it replaces, it also starts with the ability to make an additional attack every turn. Since this is a trait, it stacks with Logistics; however, since it's a trait, it is lost upon upgrading to Gatling Gun. Much more expensive than the Crossbowman.
UB: Ironwood Bowyer (replaces Workshop)
Standard Workshop bonuses. Additionally, Forest and Jungle tiles near the City in which it is built generate +1 Science, and Military units are 5% cheaper for each Forest or Jungle Tile in range (max: 50%). More expensive than the Workshop it replaces.

Forgive the lack of formatting and relatively bland design, but I tried to get it to conform to the XML standard. =]
