Ive read (in this forums) that power has to do with anything war-related; number of units, their strength, walls, etc.

I always thought it was to do with military might, like an arms race sort of thing. More number of units & more powerful units, plus military buildings and land. But maybe i'm wrong.

By the way, i love your link in your signature - some of those pictures are really quite cool. I'm going to have to visit Ireland again at some point.

Look for an article called "Demo screen explained" (or something very close), it tells you everything you need to know.

The inner workings of the Demo screen explained. Look under the section that explains "soldiers". Although it describes how the number of soldiers are calculated, it is basically describing how power is calculated.
