How many units can I use if I have a country with only one million citizens and I want to fight against a country with ten million citizens?
There is something not logical in the Civ3 game.
Even if I have a tiny civilization, but if I have many units I can weaken a civilization, which is greater than mine. How can this work. I always thought that in a civilization, which is big(more than five million citizens) the units must be greater, or not?
But in Civ3 it`s not so important if you are big or small. If you build much units you can crush everyone!!
But it`s logical if I have not so many citizens that I can`t recruite much soldiers as a greater nation. I think there should be a parameter for this in a next version of the game.
Or can someone else explain me that?. Please I wait for answers!!

There is a very simple solution to this (that I'm currently using BTW) : just put in the editor that each land unit cost one population point. It all of the sudden makes the population important, and stop the "soldiers that come out from nowhere" thing.

That is an interesting idea. :yeah: I think I'll try it, and see how it works.

Abstractly, I suppose it represents the troops recruited & deployed, as well as their logistical tail (to account for small-headcount units, such as F-15s).

I'm guessing it'll really slow down the early game. (Talk about eliminating pop rushing!) And put small civs at a disadvantage.

So: to conquer more, instruct your sims to breed more! :groucho:

[I guess that's why, during The Great Patriotic War, women who bore many children received a Hero of the Soviet Union medal. ]
