How many wonders ?

Is there any limit to the number of world/national wonder you can build in a city ?

No there isn't.

Of course with the exception that you can only build one of each wonder in all of your cities (or for world wonders one per game) but I think you knew this already.

Not being on the coast though will prevent you from building the Colossus, the Lighthouse and the Sydney Opera House in the desired city.

...and not being near a mountain will prevent you from building Machu Picchu, to be complete.

There are reasons *not* to build all wonders in one city:
Parallel construction of wonders is one of them. Additionally, there is a SoPo granting a bonus for every city with a world wonder. (I don't remember the english name right now.) You might like to spread this bonus.
