How much production do you get from chopping down a forest/jungle?

Does the amount of production you get scale as eras advance further (you get more production in classical era, even more production in Renaissance , and so on)?

How does chopping down forest and jungles scale with game pace (Marathon, Quick)? I heard it doesn't.

Yes, the do get larger.
You can actually add populations to cities by harvesting rainforests!

You can get even more population by draining marshes.

its tied to number of techs i think
20 in the beginning to ~50 in the medieval and so forth
