How often do you have time to play Civ?

I'm unemployed, so I tend to have plenty of time. Switching between the game and sending applications, I still probably play 7 hours a day, which is too much yet never enough.

Work 8 hours a day, sleep 8 hours a night, the rest is Civ time!

Not really, though. I'm trying to focus on some coding projects of my own... real men make games, not just play them!

Don't forget the hour a day you spend torturing us with riddles. :P Any Civ mods you recommend?

livsbrand: Are you suffering from Civ withdrawals? I get pretty intense headaches if I'm away too long.

There was a supposed to be a poll with funny numbers but I couldn't come up with the numbers in time so I didn't get to make a poll. I want to play Civ right now.

I only use UI enhancing mods like InfoAddict at the moment but I'm working on a project of my own to change the behavior of City-States. I guess I'll get bored of the core gameplay one of these days and get something fresh to try.

Funny you mention City-States since I vowed to decrease their number in my next game. Do post the news to the boards here if you complete such a project.

Probably more if Steam wouldn`t keep stopping me from playing cos it can`t find a net connection. Evil Steam. :(

Entire weekends each 2 weeks. During the week, a couple of hours a day. I could really play more, but I don't like single-player games. Time will be shorter in the upcoming weeks due to a commissioned piece.

Turn on the offline mode. I have to use it all the time because I have a broken network card on my Civ V computer.

I typically play Civ V for a few hours in the evening Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. And also play Civ V during the afternoon Sat & Sun. I'm single and so I could play Civ much more than I actually do.

Makes sense. Thinking about studying some programming myself but I feel too old to start. :/

Even with two summer jobs, an apartment to organize (I just moved in), and preparations for school next year, I get about two or three hours of Civ5 in.

Two hours a day.

I have, regularly, in the options bit, but it still does it. I have no idea what i`m doing wrong - If I`m doing it wrong.

Check out some online course, just to try it out. University of Helsinki, for example, offers the exact same courses they teach their own students as free online education.

Hello Fellow Die Hard Civ Fans,

I don't know where you guys get so much time during the day. I work full time like most everyone and and have a long commute to and from work. When I get home I clean up the kitchen take out the trash and start doing laundry. I get dinner going for the family before they arrive home and at that time I will have a pint of beer and call it a night. Weekends is the only time I have to spend with Civ 5. That's considering what my work load for house projects and yard work might include. Can't believe I am reading people spend a few hours a day. Unreal. That's like 20 years a go in college playing Civ 1.

Brew God

I'm on vacation right now so I play a lot of Civ - probably 2-4 hours a day. When I'm back at work, I'll probably go down to 4-6 hours a week - mostly on the weekends. But, luckily I've got a long vacation!

I really don't even play Civ all that often anymore(although I do like Civ5). It might have a little something to do with SWTOR.
