A computer with a steering wheel. That's sound a lot nicer than the mouse that I have to deal with. If I want to move the arrow right, I'll turn the wheel right. If I want to move it left, I'll turn the wheel left. And if I want to move it up I'll step on the gas. Sure beats having the mouse that gets stuck all the time.

How could they have gotten that television display monitor to work, I thought they didn't have monitor readouts until the 1970s?

The TX-0, built in 1956, had a CRT monitor display, but CRT monitors were rare at the time. Some of the earliest games were made on the TX-0.

Wow! We can only hope for even better computers in the future!

turns the steering wheel and flips a few swiches

Geez Perfection, you just have to ruin all the fun, don't you :p

There was a reason I put the mischief smiley in the
original post...

I saw that in a few places. We even have it at work. My dad saw it on a webpage, and they had an added caption - "We wonder what that ship navigational wheel is for. Netscape Navigator?" (it was probably their interpretation of a computer mouse).

I think this is really funny.

Imagine yourself working with your new Intel Centrino technology Laptop under your favorite tree (hehe!), and then you see this "home computer" vision.

I agree, this computer is larger than many people's homes during their time as a student...
