How to build and embassy.

Hi all
I´m a new civilization player and I got a doubt about how to stablish an embassy. I´ve tried to do it but even the instructions on my user manual are confused. So please, could someone explain how to build an embassy in a opponent civilization?.

if you have discovered writing then right click on your capital and there's an option there, think it is espionage, alternatively as you discover writing there is normally a pop-up asking you whether you want to create them, i think you don't get this pop-up if you gain writing by trade

Then after you have your embassy you can do certain spy missions like investigate city or steal technology.
