How to bypass the system detection thingy?

I want to try out the game but the game wont let me play it. I got the game because I thought this game would be like Pirates and Civ IV, which runs perfectly on my Pentium 3 866Mhz btw with average graphics.

So my question is how can I remove that stupid system detection software that prevents me from using the game I bought? Hey, if I want the game to be chuggy and sluggish, that's my choice not yours, so stop putting idiotic software that decides whether you can play or not this or that game, it sucks and I wasted my money on top of that since I can't play the game...

Hell! I can play Sim 2, Knights of the Old republic which is ridiculously heavy for pcs when the game is all graphs with a good story but the game itself is utterly moronic, I can play also recent games like Civcity rome (good btw), or less recent but heavy game like Postal 2, Emergency 3, Gothic 2, more recent Heroes of Might and Magic 5 ridiculously heavy for a turn based game, etc.

So I don't think it's my computer if I can play these games well which have minimum requirements of Pentium 1.2 Mhz or higher to play or something like it and I can play them with my humble 866Mhz.

I am having exactly the same problem.

The minimum sytem req's say i need 512MB RAM, my computer has 480MB RAM. Surely 20MB is not going to make a huge difference?

This game was given to me as a present, and thus, asking for it to be exchanged is a big no-no.

All I want is to be able to play the game, and instead i am greeted with a very rude "Your machine does not meet the minimum system requirments to run Railroads! The game cannot continue. Click 'Ok' to exit".

My computer has run such games as Rome Total War, with no known problems. I also frequently flight sim, and i have several EP's and traffic (with a traffic EP) set to full. I cannot see how this game would cause my PC a problem. And as the guy said above, if it does "It's my problem, not yours".

Pleas can someone help.

I am having exactly the same problem
my nvidia (with 64Mb) doesn't meet the requirements
Pls, somebody can help me?

sorry guys, there are no work around.

You need the newer processors to work certain things in this game, so no luck for us.

I've asked guys that makes trainers for games and they say it can't be done.

I have 2.5Gz with 512 MB, and cannot get the game to load -

Why is that? I run Civ 4 and warlords with no problem.

SittingBull, you might not have a DirectX 9.0c-compatible 64 MB video card.

I have Intel Extreme Graphics:

Wow. Thats crazy. Your completely right GreyWolf, even if it won't run properly, surely its up to you if you want to try...

Grr this sort of thing makes me mad

I get the same message. Will the game work on my computer?

2.5 Ghz processer, 1GB ram, Geforce4 MX 440 with 128 Vram

Hello all.

Intel Extreme Graphics is an integrated graphics solution and is not suitable for playing today's graphic-intensive games. Supposedly some games will run on it. That does not mean they will run well. If they did run well, then there wouldn't be any market for the newest cards like the 8800. People would just stick with their integrated graphics solution.

A GeForce 3 is (relatively) faster than a GeForce 4 MX 440. The MX series was never strong in the gaming department. Both of those cards are several years old now.

I believe those of you with anything under an AMD 64 or LGA 775-based Intel system will need to upgrade. 2 GB of system memory is almost standard these days, and you can get very good deals on it now. In the VGA department, I would suggest starting with the higher end nVidia 6000 series (or ATI X1600, maybe less) and going from there. Basically beef up your cpu, vga, and memory size (memory speed not being as important as the size) and you should notice a world of difference.

I completely understand that some of you want to hold on to this outdated hardware for whatever reason, but this game, among many other recent games, just will not run on it. By "recent" I mean games published within the last 1 or 2 years.

I think the general thought among simmers and strategy gamers is that these games do not and should not have steep hardware requirements as games like Oblivion and Company of Heroes. However Railroads! definitely needs some power behind it to run at a decent speed.

I have a Core 2 based system with an ATI x1600 and Railroads! runs at 20 FPS max. In other words, it _still_ seems to run slow, almost to the point where I don't really play it anymore because the game "feels" slow. I have confirmed this with other users when I play online. Turning the clouds and trees down or completely off seems to help a little bit but don't expect 60 FPS out of this game.

Those of you who can't even get the game to start up may need to begin by upgrading to new hardware. You can recoup some of the cost by selling the old stuff on eBay. You could also donate to a school to get the tax credit but it's only something like 40% of the _original_ cost - not what you think it's worth to you.

Sorry for the long post. Hope this helps.

Adam

Intel Integrated Graphics tend to be good for DX7 games.

This is kind of strange since I ran across this program due to another game crashing.

Look for 3DAnalyze by Tommti systems. I used it on Railroads before I downloaded the patches(the original 1.0 version) and was able to start it up by changing my vendor to ATi Radon 9800 pro and adjusting the Open options

But starting the game is the problem for me now! Each time I do, I have a black screen and some music playing--when the music stop, the game kicks you out!

Do not use it with the new patches--I upgraded thinking it was like the problems the others were facing only to find out that my system refuse to run it at all!

By the way, I have a crappy Intel (82)865G card--and I will not upgrade as long as I think there is some freeware out there that can hide the 3d requirements

By the way--Tommti systems is a german company--If you do not know how to read it or translate it on your machine, you can use babelfish to help you out.
