how to get modified *.biq scenario file to generate random map?

I made a few changes to the .biq file--lessened corruption by 25% (I am running C3C 1.00), localized certain city names (Rome now = Roma, etc), switched some civ colors, and replaced the English Man-O-War with the Redcoat (5.6.1) from the Napoleonic conquest. I threw it together as a scenario to protect the original conquests.biq file.

After all those changes, I created a small block of land and threw in a few enemy units to test how balanced the stats of my new unit were. Once I was satisfied, I cleared the map, saved, and now whenever I try to start the scenario the game will error out because there are not enough player starting locations. I would like the scenario to generate a random map depending on player input just as would happen when you start an epic, unmodified game. How do I do that?

Some somewhat unrelated questions--

1.) is there any way to stop the ATARI movie from playing everytime the game is launched to shorten the time spent between starting the game and getting to the main menu? it was kind of annoying during my testing. ;)

2.) for some reason, the Help popup in the editor won't show up for me anymore. How do I fix that?

TIA

Go to the Scenario menu and uncheck "Custom Map". That should do it.

I am very interested in the answer to your question #1. I don't know if there's a way aside from deleting or moving the intro file.

Clicking on the screen kills the atari animation and all that follows, taking you more quickly to the menu.

If you mean to ask how to preempt said intros before the game is even initialized - I don't think that's possible.

That did it. thanks a lot.

as far as the intro goes, that method is how I would do it with games like battlefield 1942, but I can't even find the intro file for c3c.

@Redking: It's still nearly a half a second to load and click, and then another half a second to display the menu afterwards due to the resolution changing, and that is A LOT of time when testing a mod.

Check your Conquests\Art\Movies folder. It should have a Conquests.bik file. That is your target ;)

thanks Krayzeenbk, that worked. I just moved the movie out of the folder and now it goes straight to the menu.
