Hello

I have tested Vox Populi by installing the exe package. After a game, I concluded it was not my thing.

I uninstalled all the Vox Populi mods and I have launched a normal game without mods but the screen still display the VP UI.

I have uninstalled twice the game, I have deleted twice the Civ 5 directory but each time Iaunch the game, it is still the vox populi interface and I cannot regain the vanilla interface.

Can you help me ?

It's not in the civ 5 directory, but the "My Games / Sid Meyer's Civilization 5" folder.

By the way, if you disliked it because of the UI, you can install VP without it by choosing the "non EUI" version when installing.

Installing VP without EUI will delete the EUI, so that's a good way of clearing it if you fail to find it in the different folder (the "name" of EUI is "ui_bc1" or something like that)

Perhaps I will try again, I had some bugs but I wonder if these bugs happened because I was playing with the french version of the game ?

Try playing without the EUI. It's not for everyone (I don't like it, personally).

As for being the french version, I don't know. Maybe try the english version and see if the bugs are still there?

I am not sure.

The 3 civs I have tried in french has the "defricheur" unit in the city constructing field which is an iroquois unit.

The let's play France with Vox Populi I saw on you tube was in english and has not the defricheurs...so I think the french version has not only outdated or missing text

This is one of the newest beta patch :
The pathfinder (defricheur) is now a "weak scout" for everybody (and the iroquois have a new unique unit instead). The scout is now stronger, and is a classical unit (pathfinder upgrade into scouts).
Every civ start with a pathfinder instead of the warrior.
(And the lets play you saw was probably done with an oldest version)

Thanks for the answer, it is clearer now. I think I will finish my vanilla BNW game with the French before testing again Vox Populi. Mods are quite new for me, I used to play Civ V on Ubuntu since 2014 and mod were not compatible with the Linux version. I am on Windows 10 now so I prefer to have more playing experience before testing mods.

Besides playing in English is not a problem for me, I watch a lot of TV shows in English so it will permit me to see if the original version is better than the french translation and dubbing :).

Yeah, you should switch your Civ5 to English, the base game French texts will not combine well with VP English texts, you will have wrong policy descriptions, etc. As far as I know, there is no such thing as a French version of VP. There is a thread somewhere here about making translations for VP, so maybe there is some outdated language pack for French lying around (or even included in VP???), but as your English is apparently pretty good, you will be safer if you switch your Civ5 to English - you can do it somewhere on Steam.

And just to clarify, EUI is not created by the VP devs, it was included (optional) due to popular demand. I personally do not use it.

I have indeed good english skills and I know how to change the language of the game in Steam. The only game where I won't do this is XCOM (the 1st) because the save files are language dependents and I have begun a new Classic difficulty game.

I have tried the free Civ VI demo...it is odd, a lot of concepts of Vox Populi are present on Civ VI...Firaxis has copied on you ?

Eh... We modded a firaxis game in the first place, I mean... talking about in terms of "copying" doesn't really make sense.

It's more like, we shared our ideas with the world and made the series better. It's a win for all of us.

(I wish they had copied VP in terms of AI though)

well my first play with VP was a failure : I took the vikings and I was totally surprised by the face the barbarians has been also improved to ans Ihave underestimated them...but it was fun ^^
