Is there an easy way to switch between VP-EUI and regular EUI?

So from what I can tell, there's at least two versions of the Enhanced User Interface mod: One that is compatible with Vox Populi but not compatible with unmodded Civ5, and vice versa a second one that is not compatible with Vox Populi but instead with regular Civ5. Using the wrong version breaks the interface and renders the game unplayable.

Hence, use the right EUI for your given modding setup. Sounds simple enough, right?

But what if I don't want to play just unmodded Civ5 or just Vox Populi all day every day? What if I want to play VP in the morning but feel like going achievement hunting in vanilla in the afternoon? Do I have to uninstall the incompatible EUI and replace it with the correct version every time I want to switch between the two? Seems like kind of a hassle. I suppose I could have both versions installed and switch which one is "active" by renaming the relevant folder(s) of the incompatible version and/or hiding them via putting a . at the start of their name(s), would that work? Even if yes, is there an easier way of accomplishing what I'm looking for that I'm missing?

Renaming folders in DLC won't work. Every lua/xml file there will be read by the game.

VP overrides some EUI functions because of how the game is changed. So it's not compatible with newer versions natively.
If you want to read about plans they are in the this thread
tl;dr updating EUI is on the to-do list

My plan has shifted to picking only the desirable parts of EUI (including from new versions) and rewriting them into VPUI instead. We don't need the entire thing that supports base civ5, G&K, BNW, and BE at the same time. The GameInfoCache thing will also have to be removed since that's apparently caching every database call result.
