How to open Poser animations, figures and props

in poser, you don't open models or poses. You move them to their right directory like Poser9/runtime/library/characters/

Then you either open poser and make a new document, or use Utah's or someone else's unit set up file. Then you use Poser's library to add figures, and give them poses.

non poser files, like obj or 3ds have to imported manually. Poser files should be in the right folders of Windows explorer, make sure characters are in characters, prop in props, and poses in poses. Also make sure the geometries are in the right folders. To add poser files into the scene use Poser's library inside the Poser's application.
If you are still have problems try to explain it again using screen caps so I can see what exactly you are having trouble with

you should already have the Poser horse model in your library, if you did a full install if not PM me. You might have to search for it, since Utah probably used an older version of Poser, and the horse was in a different directory.

If Poser hasn't changed too much since the 5th edition, you just need to throw everything in Runtime/Library (then in the right folder: props, pose, figure, etc.), then in Poser you just open the right-side bar and everything is there. Click on "+" and there you are.
The horse model was included in the installation for Poser 5, not sure it is still there with Poser 8.

No, there is no horse in Poser 8. I will send to you or Shiro my email tomorrow.

By the way, any one knows any poser files or props for ox or bull?

The other quick question would it be what are those materials on units which change whenever you change a colour of one of picked civ. Is it simple material with alpha channel?

Civ 3 Units use a paletted index. So the .pcx file contains a max of 256 colors and there are 40 colors set aside that are used for the civ color. So if you create a unit, you can use any civ color you want; and when you have your rendered storyboards, you create a palette with that civ color and there you go; unit should be good to go.

well tom has a cow that needs death and run animations, also tom has buffalo and bison modell that could be rearranged to look llike an ox - that would be very nice - cause they would go with the buffalo and the bison - i think this should be a very quick start - so u will not have to start from scratch a new unit....

I have horse model for poser and horse 10fps animation from here http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=4316729&postcount=39

but when I add this animation to model, horse's back legs seems to run towards front instead of his back, anyone knows how to fix this?

The horse that comes with Poser 7 (and I assume 8) is a completely different model to that from 5 which is what Utah's is made for. I ran into the same problem and had to make my own, which is what I used for my Romano-British units. I was going to share it with the forum once I figured out how to retrieve the .pz2 as windows explorer doesn't realize that it exists (Windows 7 :wallbash:).

Anyway, long story short, of the P8 horse is the same as the P7 horse, I can upload a .pz3 with the horse run and you can export the pose yourself, if you wish.

Instead poser asking me to find Paperdoll Male.obj.
The paperdoll thread. The figure is in the first post. This a good human figure to work with because it is made to match what is already in the game. There other threads with many props made to use with it.
