How to play in one ERA only?

does anybody know to do so we can play at only one era....the era won't advance

like we play at medieval and we cannot advance to renaissance

disable the techs in the .xml files that you don't want to be able to learn. Once you figure it out, it should take about 10 minutes of work.

well...i found one way...it works fine but i did so i could only play until medieval age...but when it reached medieval or something, the game crashes to desktop

so i did to classical age...and the same happens...after a few turns, the game crashes to desktop....

so can you tell me how to disable it? thanks

check out the file assets/xml/technologies/CIV4TechInfo.xml

make a copy of it and put it in the customassets/xml/technologies folder

find this line for each tech you want to disable:

<bDisable>0</bDisable>

change to...

<bDisable>1</bDisable>

The good should be give us that option in a future civ4 patch
