how to replace a units art in the game to an other one?

hello i was hoping someone could help me by explaining how to replace a units art in the game to an other one? example a tank unit to look like a mech unit without changing its stats.

A very simple way to do that would be to locate the Tank unit in the Units file and change its ART_DEF_UNIT_XXX to the one of the Mech unit (assuming that the Mech entry is in the CIV4ArtDefines_Unit file and that all the art is referenced properly in it).
