Somebody knows how to show the city radius in the main map? (not the culture radius). This would be usefull to position cities.

Well you can see the city radius from the city screen. However the city radius has remained unchanged since CIV 2 (I do not remember what CIV 1 radius was).

It is a fat cross:
_XXX
XXXXX
XXCXX
XXXXX
_XXX

Turn on the Grid (button above the mini map) and you should be able figure it out.

I know the fat cross format and i know that i can see it on the city screen. But when i make a new city, i dont want to calculate the radius of all surround cities and future cities. That sucks.

You can turn on tiles by clicking on one of the icons above the mini-map (second from the left or something). Play around with those and see what you find.

Also you can zoom out and use the tactical overlay to draw on the map. draw lines around your cities and make dots where your future cities should go.

There are plenty of things they probably wanted to put into the game but couldnt :( Why? Civilization: Call to power is why :/ Or so me thinks. I dont thinkt hey are allowed else they might get sued. I would so so so so love to see the stupid city radius :( And the stupid trade routes on map, and the stupid workers too so i can change who works what square without opening the city.

Maybe down the road someone will release a mod for it.

yeah this is something I would have liked to see, it would make it a lot easier to see what tiles your city can utilize having some sort of border put around the tiles.

In the meantime, the best way I have found to know quickly the radius of workable tiles for a city is by using the 6 rule. Each side of your city has 6 workable tiles on each of its sides, they are arranged 3 wide x 2 high. So you just need to imagine the following tiles projecting from each side of your city with the center tile being in line with your city tile;

xxx
xxx

which ends up looking as wmtrexler wrote above (except a bit more symmetrical in the game since the text doesnt really make the shape look right);

_XXX
XXXXX
XXCXX
XXXXX
_XXX

Yes I know the "workarounds" but for me a option to show the city radius, is basic....

I appreciate your concern, but for me, working out a city radius with the grid on is also basic.
