How to turn losers into an empire, a short guide to the nutrals (WWII)

This guide depneds on two incidents:
1. The Axis MUST capture Amsterdam
2. The Axis must sign a peace treaty
Yeah so now what you say. Let me warn you right here that it is a hard frustrating road to being awsome. Let me also tell you that it is impossible to get a great score so just play for the fun.

Act one step one: Take your three partisans and quickly move them down the French/Axis border (slightly inside the Axis border) south. Then cut out to the Atlantic ocean and huge it and continue going south. Take your troops into northern Spain. Place your troops on the hill near the small (4) northern costal town. When they tell you to go away tell them to suck on a log. You should easily take the town.
Act one step two: The allies should start bombarding costal cities. Build a rifleman in the town and send your troops anywhere on the peninsula to capture towns once they are empty. For some reason the fighter jets should leave you alone. (Side note: build a settler and send it to the Pakistan region, more later. Make sure you do not lose any other cities while doeing this) When you have a rifleman in each of your former Spanish cities send 4-5 partisans to attack Madrid. Carefully capture it. This will split the country into two (not a civil war just geograpically). Then the rest of the country (besides north africa) should soon fall to you.

What to do and not do as the Neutrals:
1. Do not depend on the current diplomatic state of Europe. There posistions will constantly change toward others and you. You will have a hard time in diplomacy for a long time because you attacked Spain. Spot hostilities and the end of cease fires early.
2. YOU ARE A BAND OF REBELS. Do NOT try and build much of a regular army even defense just build partisans until I say so.
3. Build minimal city improvements.
4. Try to keep the Allies on the good side they will save your butt sometimes. ;)
5. Squize all of the technologies out of the Allies you can get.
6. Your mission is the expansion and survival of your country do not spend a lot of money on research you will allways use primitive technologies. THis is a reason for the gurrila warfare tactics. Instead you must be smart, spot oppertunities and outsmart the computer
7. As soon as you can switch to FUndimentalism (this will and can not happen for a while but it is VERY benificial)
8. Hang on to cities with virgor and try to retake them. I personally lost my ROmanian city.
9. Make Madrid your capital
10.Build airports inthree key cities, spain sweden, and middle east
11. NEVER BUILD A NAVY UNTIL I SAY so.

Act Two part one: Make your far east city crank out settlers and start colonizing the pakistan region. Once the cities are a 4 pop. make them build settlers. Keep doing this all game long and eventually imrpove the land and build a road to your original city(build the airport there). Do not worry about heavily defending your cities no one is over there.

Act three part one: The french will probably attack you. In fact at one time every country will most likely attack you. Defend defend defend. If one of your cities is captured retake it, in fact it is a good thing because you instantly get partisans.
Act three part two: Start modernizing you army by building tanks and transports. If you want you can capture north africa. IN 1956 most countries will have forgotton your treachery. *(see note) Build city improvements durning this ten year prosperity. Start building partisans, galleons, and tanks. Build a fignhter force of about 7 fighters and move them into the mediterianian and make sure that the one Ally island you have under your control. IN a few years go over when the Allies are your allies :) and capture turky. It isn't hard just send some troops over. NExt take over sweden with tanks when the axis declare war on you.

I stopped shortly after that, I would recomend attacking france next, but carefully they have a huge navy.

* THis is also because your empire is now pretty big. THis is becuase of of conquest and your building of cities in Pakistan. See.. there was a reason for that.

That's neat and all, but I consider the original WWII scenario irrelevant. Download a better one with around thirty specific units, no engineers, and historical triggers.

And for God's sake man, it's impossible to lose as anybody if you're willing to play till the 1960's!

If you are interested in winning ww2 with a civ that seems to be condemned to lose, you should switch to Apolyton and find my thread named 'arriba' (you can use the 'search' tool).
You will then discover that we had some kind of competition last year trying to win ASAP with any of the 4 smaller civs.
IIRC the current recordholder playing with the Neutrals is Fire Dragon (who managed to conquer northern Europe from Stockholm). Fire Dragon also holds the record playing with the Turks and the Spaniards.
I hold the record with the French (for the very simple reason that no one else has managed to win ww2 playing with the French yet :cool: ).

Have a try (for example with the French) and let us know what you manage to achieve!
 
Is there a WWII scenario that includes the whole world. That would be cool. Sorry Jeez, I just thought that it was a cool strategy.
 
2194 Days of War is one.....
 
Yeah never mind about the WWII coment I just looked. Sorry now I really feel folish.
 
It's a great strategy, don't get me wrong. No offense. It's just that it's so easy to win in that sort of timeframe.

Anyway, 2194 is the game you're looking for. I personally don't like having a whole-world scenario because the map is too small and there isn't room for many personalized units. If you want single-theater scenarios, I would recommend Anstieg or Zweiter Weltkrieg for Europe, and World War II: The Pacific Theater.

La Fayette - Just tell me the tribe and difficulty, and I'll do it. Deity as the Turks would be my preference, but it's your call.
 
Hey, what a coincidence! Just found out we need someone for the 2194 PBEM, and you came to mind. I don't know if you're very experienced at MP or not, but the Axis are easy in this scenario. You could practice the scenario a bit at home and then join the game. In case you don't know much about PBEM gaming, check the file attached. Let me know if you want to and soon, since we're waiting for the Axis turn right now.
 
I just checked the results of ww2 with smaller civs.
Fire Dragon has changed his name to Jaguar Warrior.
Therefore the tiny Hall of Fame is as follows (deity level, winning condition: all objective cities conquered, no caravan rehoming):

French: La Fayette (april 61)
Neutral: Jaguar Warrior (oct 58); (EOL managed oct 60 previously)
Spaniards: Jaguar Warrior (june 53); (La Fayette managed august 61 previously)
Turks: Jaguar Warrior (dec 61); (La Fayette managed june 63 previously)

So, Darius, you choose the one that pleases you. Have fun!

(About the 2194PBEM, I am ready to play as the Axis whenever you will start it)
 
I'll start deity turks. Damn annoying how long the AI takes to move, though.

The best strat I found with Neutrals is to build airports+freights. Ally with the Allies and beg for techs off them - industrialization is what you want for transports. Airlift freights into Stockholm and send them all to England for huge bonuses and a couple techs. Aim for robotics, build tons of howies and conquer first Scandinavia, then the UK, then go for mainland Europe.
