So I didn't order because I was still checking up on some things, heard about the price cuts for the intels so I'm waiting, and have acquired a bit more money to throw around(I got a credit card that I won't have to pay interest on for a year, I'm sure I'll pay off anything by then) so I figured I'd raise my budget to $900 I guess.
So, pretty much the only thing staying the same is the Antec 900 and Corsair 650w psu. I'm going back to the DFI, getting a Lanparty DK p35 though, was told it overclocks really good and everything. Was thinking of OCZ reapers, 4gb DDR2 1066, would I need that to overclock or would 800 do fine, since I want to overclock as much as possible, so long as the temps are good.
Also, about that, what are good temps for a cpu? Some people were saying that over 65 C can ruin the cpu, and some cooler reviewers were saying a overclocked cpu was only getting to I think it was around 55C 100% load with the OCZ, or any cooler really, while another had practically every cooler only getting down to 70C, but said that was fine anyway.
Then, the cpu. I was looking at benchmarks and in any games stock and overclocked the e8400 beat the Q6600 but just by a little, so I was thinking maybe for when games start using it in a year or two or for whatever programs I may be using a quad would be better, but then I figured, even supreme commander which is the game people were trying to claim is the only thing that really uses quad cores was better on the E8400 so maybe I might as well just save money for better RAM or something and get the E8400, since I doubt I'll be using too intensive a program to need a quad.
Last, the 4850 should be able to max anything out today except maybe Crysis, right? Or would the extra $100 for a 4870 be worth it if I save it from the E8400?
