Im having issues with my hud in Civ 4 BTS the hud is just not appearing at all during gameplay.

NVM i think i have solved it my patching it :D hopefully everything should be working good so i can play my game ive been waiting so long for. :mischief:

im still having the problem even after the patch  idk what to do help please

The exact same thing has happened to me. BtS worked fine for months, then about 6 weeks ago the entire interface disappeared during gameplay, and while hitting ESC still brings up the menu, clicking on Options results in absolutely nothing happening. In addition, when the game loads, it completely skips all of the opening movies and goes straight to the main menu (not that that's a problem, but it may help someone figure out what's going on), and I can't access Options from there either.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times and tried with and without the 3.17 patch and the BUG mod (the only mod I use), but it's the exact same problem regardless. Vanilla Civ IV and Warlords (Gold Edition) still work perfectly, but it sucks playing those when you're used to BtS. Help?

I'd wager a donut there is something left over file in your custom assets folder that is causing this. Delete everything in your custom assets folder, and reinstall, and see if the problem persists.

If the problem does, loosing your interface is almost always caused by python. So turn on python exceptions in your main Beyond the Sword civilization4 ini file and see what error messages pop up.

Thanks. Whatever the problem was, it must have been hiding in one of those folders that don't disappear when you uninstall the game (the fact that all of my previous games still appeared in the hall of fame after a reinstall was what tipped me off to their existence). Uninstalling and then searching for and deleting every civ-related file on my computer seems to have done the trick, as everything is back to normal now. Time to refill the ol' hall of fame. :)

Sorry for the threadjack, Xero.

sorry to dig up an old thread but i got to a solution without a need to reinstall, i simply deleted everything inside customassets/python and then ran the game normally and the hud reappeared like it should. Im not sure if this has any consequences but so far so good :)

hope this helps guys
