...that are actually huge. I see that the only way to make the game world more life-like is to make a map two to three times bigger than it's current largest format. Preportion=realism. Keep in mind this would make for a very long game and slow turn transition (*or perhaps it could be turnless?) since there would be so many civilizations.

The larger the map the greater the world size, obviously. This would be yet another step towards making the game realistic.

i play large at the most cause i cant stand the turn time, if they fixed this i would be fine with huge or giga maps

I have read that in past versions of CIV you could "jump" from map to map. Maybe that feature could be brougth back

it was only for the extended orginal and scenerios that you could switch between maps it wasnt the main game and i dont see how that would help

Gameplay over realism...

And please explain, how this would increase realism?? By now movement is too slow to make the large maps realistic IMO.

my limit is about 140x140 cos anything bigger in around the industrial age goes so slow it spoils the game maybe its just my crap comp? i was wondering what ur map sizes are comfortable for ur comp

180x180 works prett well. Marla's map (what, 200x256?) slows to a crawl come 1000 AD. Shame, I love that map.
