Huge Postcount Drop?

Mathematical humour. Almost as extreme an oxymoron as "Good morning" :cringe:

When you pass Lefty in postcount, they let you view the mod forum.
No, at that point the staff forum beings to view the poster with increased suspicion.

My postcount didn't go down (even though I didn't even look. ;) )

Does that just mean that first derivative of my coefficient of spam is equal to the inverse of the first derivative of coefficient of unspam.

Lets see:

d(spam)/dx = - d(unspam)/dx

I can think of a few posters for which I'd like to see a change in the second derivitive...

If it's only a number then why are ''some'' people so obsessed about it? :crazyeye:

THat's what I'd like to know, the only postcount I was concerned about was my 300'th so I could get a custom avatar :) but after that who cares?? Do people think they get smarter, or better with a high post count? I've seen people out here with under 100 posts that commonly play on Deity level and I can and have learned alot from them..

I know mine dropped by 5 today when a thread with the author bashing Muslims in the name of patriotism and insulting me was deleted. Too bad...I made some good arguments. It was open season on the guy.

Packer Backer trolled with the same message in several forums (ranging from the Civ3 section to OT). Those threads had to be deleted. They were troll threads.

It like OT is it's own little sub-culture and the more post counts you have the higher up on the hierachy you are.

Post counts are ok but if people are posting just to increase their count then might lead to a lot of dribble and nonsense being posted rather then well thought out and meaningful arguements.... not that that actually happpens

Heres a novel idea why not play civ instead of posting lots?
All OT regulars must play at least 20 turns of a succession game in a week to bew able to post more then 70 posts a week, which is 7 posts a day?

somehow I dont think that this will happen

Mine didn't drop any that I noticed :hmm:

What about us OT regulars that play lots of Civ. just its Civ 2, so not mant succession games ;)

How about OT regulars that play pbems and single player and some multiplayer but don't like succesion games that much ;)

I was just amazed at how many regular posters dont play civ.
It was a silly suggestion

To be honest, almost all of them where Civ players at some point that have gotten bored for one reason or another. Some still do play and design (Curt, for example).

Bored?? BORED!!!??? How does that happen?
I think we need to start some sort of civ re-indoctronisation scheme that people can enroll in if they feel they are not as euthusiastic about civ anymore.:p

It's called "Conquests" :D
and it isn't coming out til the 14th of November :(

and i have some number of posts, but not over many, as every single one is a unique work of art, and i can't produce them as rapidly as some people... :)

Some of the most interesting and creative posts come on the site feedback thread. Not however posts about threadcount, even this one.

It is possible that the reason is the relatively high number of posts by moderators, who tend to be creative, even in criticism. Notice how few posts they make about post count.

well that's one way of looking at it (another would be that i was hanging out for the advertised date of october 30 and now i have to start the countdown again).
