I created a Conquests scenario, I really like the map and all the new stuff I've created, but when I play it, and create an embassy in foreign capitals, I see them with growth-rates that are TWICE as long as mine! It seems production is also doubled. What the hay could've caused this??

I've created several new Wonders, one building (Shrine) and a couple new Governments (Theocracy, Islam and Paganism.) But nowhere can I see a button in the Editor that might cause the AI to be hobbled with such a handicap. Anyone out there know if this is a bug? Or is it normal???

The AI get's cheaper units / less food needed to be stored to grow the higher the level is. On Monarch (cost factor: 9), a 10-shield unit costs only 9 shields. Growth, instead of taking 20 food, takes 20 * .9, or 18 food. On Sid (cost factor: 4), a worker (10 shields for you and me) costs them 4 shields! They only need 8 food to grow (without a granary! ).

However, on Warlord (cost factor: 12) and Chieftan (cost factor: 20), it takes them 12 and 20 shields, respectively, to build a warrior (10 shields for me).

Make sure you selected the right Difficulty you want. :) Regent is normal.

Gingerale, your response helped a lot. Turns out --d'oh!-- that I'd started the scenario on "chieftan" which I've never done before. It happened after a System Restore, so I didn't check all the bullets. Thanks.

You're a gentleness and a squalor...
