Humankind -The Celts discussion thread

Well now that you mention it what is more agrarian than having a nemeton tree?

Let's not go too far . . . A 'nemeton' was apparently a natural grove - no cultivation of trees implied or intended. The word is also used (especially in Celtic areas of the British Isles) in the sense of a 'sanctuary', but this may have been attached later during early Christian times. It is most frequently considered to be a form of 'Sacred Grove' which is possibly the most common religious site on the planet: forms of sacred groves have been found or identified on every continent except Antarctica, used by a wide variety of religions and beliefs. It's great to have something like that represented in the game, especially using a form widely recognized as 'Emblematic' of a single group, the Celts.

Agrarian, though, certainly applies to the sudden massive increase in urbanization and population growth in Gaul, their construction of good roads throughout the area to move people and foodstuffs, and the (Roman recounted) Druidic knowledge that included astronomical and calendrical studies related to organizing planting and harvest and the Celtic festivals centered on the spring and fall 'agriculturally important' periods of the year.
