"(...) Feudal nobility and aristocracy in Bohemia were Germans or Germanized Czechs and they were above the law, while commoners (...) lived under despotic rule; for every offense they were losing their noses cut off by knives and their hands cut off by axes (...) In Prague, at the beginning of the 15th century, occured Hus. His voice and teachings penetrated into houses, and overthrowing old forms, which had originated from the Catholic Church and had spread across the nation, overthrew at the same time that lordship of Germans. Starting from commoners ethnicity spilled out into all relations and classes. Language came into force and took spirit, ślachta returned to their surnames, Schwarzenberg already considered himself Černohorský. Hus was burned at the stake, but that fire only lightened the spirit for good, Slavicness started to flame among the Czechs, and entire Europe was astounded (...) Czech people grasped the torch of progress and carried it in front but also carried it in a spirit of Slavic freedom (...) a Republican Spirit. (...)"

Did such Czechization and re-Czechization of Bohemian ślachta really take place in the 15th century as the result of Hussitism?
