Watching my swimmijng warriors easily pulling away from those whip-wielding maniacs in the galleys, it's, it's inspiring is what it is! Time to treat my slaves more kindly. And maybe arm them, 'cause I expect that eventually they'll be able to outswim battleships.

As much as it was a pain to build ships to move my army I do miss land units being transported by ships.

Civ 1 had it right. Different ships could carry different number of troops. (Trirème caries 2 Unis, sails 3, frigates 4 and transports a whopping 8). Just need to keep those ships safe.

Same here. There's something wrong with settlers just jumping into the water and hoping the mule floats.

Nope, I don't miss this at all. I like their decision to abstract transport ships. I can easily hand-wave away the need to produce and deal with another naval unit.

Turns are literally years apart - I have no problem assuming they figured something logical out based on their technology level in that time frame to account for the time spent embarking/disembarking.
