I cannot research Mountaineering

I see Mountaineering only in Civopedia. It is not present in technology tree and is not present at list of technologies to research after developing the Invention.
I'm currently using SVN 9123, but I always had that problem.

Any idea what may be cause?

It is there, but i just looked and there is something wrong with the tech tree??

With the changes being made the options are now in a different order. It may be that the game you are playing has the options in the old order and that has turned off Usable Mountains. With Usable Mountains off the tech Mountaineering is also off.

The options chosen in a game are a set of 1s and 0s in the CivilizationIV.INI file. Try starting a game using "Play Now". Exit. Then load your save. That might do the trick.

That may be cause.
I always thought that Usable Mountains is option to have usable mountains without Mountaineering. Something like GAMEOPTION_LARGER_CITIES that allows to have bigger city radius without Metropolitan/Capital Administration.

Its easy to fix, all u need to do is go into the WB and change the options there . .

I just started new custom game with Usable Mountains set ON, and Mountaineering is now present in Technology Tree!

My problem seems to be solved.

Wasn't Usable Mountains active and hidden for a while? If so, why was that changed?

It is one of those that we were thinking of removing as C2C basically requires it on. It is a hang over from the RoM and RoM:AND(1) days.
