It's not the difficulty, you just need to get used to the game as it's very different.
I too considered stepping down to Immortal for a game or two, then I thought: would it make any difference? No. It just makes a lot of things easy (boring) and still won't magically get me used to the new mechanics.

Keep playing your diff, you'll wipe sometimes but then you learn and it's G&K all over again.
