Some may have noticed that my avatar has been changing. I keep trying new things and then deciding the images aren't suitable ...

(attempts have been posted in the computer forum)

Anyway, my most recent attempt is based on the King's Colours... and, well, I thought the end result looked German!

Does anyone else share this opinion or am I imagining it? :p

Isn't that shape the Iron Cross? If so, that explains why you think it looks German.

Cool-looking image, BTW.

I don't think it looks German.

It would be nice to make a petition to raise the avatar format up to 80x80 while keeping the file-size.

Putting a black lined-border around the whole thing will save you having to lose Scotland's flag from the design.

Does look better that way. I cannot get it down to the 4Kb limit without colour-destruction though. Grr...

It doesn't look German to me. Scandinavian, perhaps, but not German. That isn't the Iron Cross; it is the wrong color and shape.

It has always amused me that the English crown has as motto : "Honni soit qui mal y pense".

It's funny because :
1- It's in French.
2- It looks like a primary school moral lesson.

any problem with this? ;)

Just that I ain't German, not much anyway :p

Stormbind, as a fellow englishman, I must give you a virtual slap:splat:.
You have used the Americaised version of the word colour (in American color) in the title! Shame on you!

And and about the whole German thing, Britain has some interesting links with Germany, so it is not all out of place.
To quote Blackadder:

Darling: I'm as British as Queen Victoria!
Blackadder: So your father's German, you're half German and you married a German?
:rotfl:

It looks fine. Nice and British, wot?

Ah, well you see.. the moderator moved this thread and changed the title ;)

Nice quote :goodjob:

RG, well it could be viewed as historical-British or pro-monarchy.

The King's Colours, as depicted, is the (historical) flag of Great Britain and not the UK. It always represented the monarch.

Great Britain no longer exists as a political unit, and the UK has a similar but suitably differenced flag showing lineage only. Today, the King's Colours are reserved for the monarch.

The other symbol comes from the army, I think, but I'm not sure.

I would interpret the avatar as showing intent to defend the monarch which fits my common stance but in any case, it's not a great representation of me. Did I over-analyse it?

Guess I'll keep looking...
