Hi,
I have a problem with cmot 05. I installed my civ3 , downloaded and installed a patche 1.29f, downloaded a sav (cmot_05_conquest.sav). I start a game, load this sav and I get a message: "DataIO operation System Error: BIC"
What should I do, help me guys.

Sounds like you are trying to play using the original Civ software.

COTM is designed to work with the Conquests expansion pack of Civ and so will not play under its previous incarnation.

However, GOTM, which also runs once a month, can be played using your version.

Hope this helps, and welcome to CFC! :)

Ok, there is probably an answer to this somewhere, but I have failed to find it.
My Great Leaders seem to be as useful as an NDP government. Lots of promises and hope but in the end, all is lost and at twice the price with a lot of wasted time.

Specifically, why can't I rush build a great wonder with my Leaders?
I managed to buy my forbiddin palace with one but now I can ruch build are regular buildings. (temple, library). Okay I remember reading about "scientific" leaders, but there are no options to use it for science. Was this changed in the patch or am I missing something.

My great leader Huayna Capac awaits your help.

Because in C3C you can't do that with millitary leaders (I guess it is because scientific leaders were introduce). You can rush small wonders and build armies. Scientific leaders can be used for rushing great wonders, but you won't get any in COTM anyway.
I do not have civ around, but I suspect that you could find this information even in civlopedia.

As solenoozerec says, leaders have been specialised in C3C. There are no 'Great Leaders' any more. Scientific leaders were introduced to use for wonder rushing instead of letting Great Leaders do everything. Military leaders are now the army builders, with the ability to rush 'ordinary' improvements and small wonders.

Scientific leaders are disabled in COTM because they bring a huge random factor into the game. Being able to rush a very powerful wonder can change your result in the game out of all proportion to the cost and risk of achieving it. The game would then favour good luck with the RNG much more than player skill.

Note though that the military great leaders are far MORE powerful in C3C, simply because the armies they can produce are WAY better than they used to be. In C3C, an army can attack multiple times in one turn, get a bonus movement-point, can "see" one tile further than other units, have a zone-of-control AND can pillage without losing movement-points. Try building an army of Cavalry - it's totally awesome!
