I know it's early, but what features do you expect in the next expansion?

I know Warlords just came out with somewhat mixed reviews. Some say it didn't do enough, some say it was great, others believe it was well made, yet focused too much on scenarios. The vassal state concept, for one, has had many conflicting reviews.
What other features do people expect or dream about for the next Civ4 expansion? Personally I'd like to see more resources and units. Perhaps even more religions or breakaway religious sects. I believe that Warlords, though fun and well made, did not go above and beyond what some modders have created for free online.
I hope Firaxis will listen and read some of the fan forums, like this one, and develop game concepts based on ideas we as the fan community draw up online.

So let's hear it. More resources like tobbaco, salt, and coffee? Perhaps more religions like Zoroastrianism; or better yet, religious divisions and sects like Protestantism or Sunni/Shia Islam?

Religious divisions are a great idea. I'd personally want to see the option of getting contact with particular factions brought back into diplomacy eg. a small amount of gold for contact with eg.celts or contact with arabia for contact with germany

I have so many ideas but I can't bothered to write them up now

Gold for contacts is interesting. I think SMAC had something similar to contact trading. I wonder what their rationale was for keeping it out in Civ4.

What new Civs do people expect out there? I'm thinking:
Iroquois, Babylonians, Byzantine

Maybe: Dutch, Portuguese, Aborigines

What UUs and UBs are people brainstorming of?

What do I expect? Not much. There'll be a few interesting ideas, and plenty of stuff that should have been in there in the first place. But I'm not complaining: Civ 4's an excellent game and I'm happy to hand over a bit of cash every year or two if it means continued patches that come in boxes with nice thick manuals :)

An actual, usable map editor external to the game would be nice.

I had to write a tool to convert an image into a Civ4 map. That kind of thing just shouldn't be necessary.

Ooo more techs, how insteresting. I hadn't thought of that. What kind of techs in specific? And what units in are you brainstorming Rex?

More in depth form of religious conflict... Possibility of relocating holy cities, and "stealing" the benefits of founding a religion ;)

Tark's Civ Brainstorm #021:

Interesting idea. Something would have to be done to allow AI civ's to get mad at you even if they share your religion though.

Maybe allow opposing civs to form a crusade against you if you've got the holy city. Say you convert them to your religion. Typically done to gain allies.

Now if you go and piss off these allies, they could be prompted to ally against you and form a crusade to free the holy city. The AI's should be designed to stop once the city is taken, however, and seek peace.

Another possibility is a division of one religion. It could come about if an AI is displeased with you, and their cities equal a certain % of a religion, they can form a sect of it, and a city is randomly chosen to be a "new" holy city. A religion and it's derivitive will have worse diplomatic relations than two different religions.

Im crossing my fingers for a soloution to memory leaks, late-game slowdowns, slight delay in unit movement, video problems, AI meeting delays, any zoom troubles, things like that. I hope it all gets utalized, memory that is, to correct some of it. Streamlined flow is what going to be sowed. By then they;ll have the tech to smooth things alittle more.

Thats What Im after, Im excited for the next expansion for only better things can happen once they control what I mentioned above. I betcha million the next expansion works on the EPIC GAME in a big way.
Traveling improvments that spawn units on the road, a floral arrangment of Panzers, Tigers Shermans all types of everything in the name of flavour..

Pearl Harbour: The scenario, will bring the sea slaughters to the forfront in the epic aswell. Basically its gunna be one juicy bad ass sign off for CIV

History repeats remember how COnquests left its mark on Civ3?

trading for contacts, always fun

also I'd like to see a weapons trading feature. You wont actively be a part of a war, but you can supply units to the highest bidder \o/

oh, and the Dutch civ, ofcourse :$

A stand-alone map editor (a la Civ3) is the only feature I really REALLY want included in the next expansion. The way cIV is set up, really REALLY sucks.

Anything above and beyond that is just a bonus, in my opinion.
