I love australians

Thankyou for lightening the tone, perhaps, as a lover of Aussies you could enlighten us as to the relevance of your post?

It had no relevance outside of the sheer fact that the thread's title reminded me of that particular song, hence you were subjected to it.

More musical interludes are to come.

I think that Australians are really rather bonzer chaps and er, chapesses. In fact, I like them so much that I would like to do an exchange deal with their good nation. You send us some of the cheery folk mentioned above, and we send you all the Godawful young dullards who inspire sleep with their traditional opening gambit "When I was travelling in Australia......" I can't stand the complete bosh these people spout at the slightest hint of relevance, and only wish that Australia would close their borders to cretinous British youths who want to "travel and discover themselves and the world". I haven't got the slightest interest in hearing about the time they were photographed outside Ramsey Street, nor do I want to see same photos. If I want to look at pictures of koala bears then I shall either switch on the Discovery Channel or go to a library. Besides, once you've seen a picture of one koala bear, the short-lived interest has already waned. Why the hell did these people feel it necessary to spend a whole film on the creatures? In fact, if we could manage to get the treaty cancelled that says that should Australia agree to accept the dregs of English youth then we will forfeit any chance we may have of winning a test series the world would be a far better place.
And don't try to claim that such a treaty is a figment of my fertile imagination you antipodean scallywags - it's as plain as the view from Ayres Rock.

Hmmm... I only just joined up but I'm liking this place a lot already. :D

Hell yeah - Aussies rock! :D After trawling around online for a while you really do notice in general differences between people from different countries - and I gotta say I still find I enjoy talking to Aussies (in general) best. :D

Racist? You have got to be kidding.....

And as for the cricket.... Bevan for PM!!!! ;)
