Hi! I'm creating a mod FOR CIV3 and I need suggestions. Post what can be done.
 
You don;t have any ideas for your mod?

What is it's theme if any?

How about a SuperHeroes mod
Instead of Civs you can have Publishers Marvel/DC/Image
and you can star with Golden Age heroes moving trough Silver Age , Modern Age and Current heroes.

Just a thought.

Civ Chess Mod

• Make a settler unit a General (the game ends when the last settler dies)
• No cities just Army Camps
• Pick a great battle in history
• Edit units to reflect the time period of the battle
• Adjust Terrain to give it a more battlefield look, adjust stats of units to reflect the higher mobility needed to cross the map etc
• Get rid of all city improvements, wonders
• Get rid of all units that you can build, you want whatever units you have at the beginning to be set…

Basically the mod would be like a game of Chess, terrain, unit stats would have to be altered… remember that game Stratego? Kind of like that but with more units etc..

Also this would be a great game to play multiplayer…

I've been thinking of a mod along teturkhan's line.

Have cities, but all units require a 'special' city improvement to build. Then fix it so that no one can build that city improvement. Cities will then be unable to build units, but provide a place for troops to heal.

Only units I might see being built would be trebuchets, etc. Units typically built on the battlefield.

You could start we say 3-4 'settler' units. Say a king, princes, and a duke (to use medieval terms) that way should the king die there might be someone who could carry on the fight.

THis way you could have a 'huge' setting as above and range to a 'tiny' setting with just one 'settler' type unit.

I was planning on making a D&D type adventure where you started with 6 party members (settler ability) and once the party died the game would be over.

Heroes are created only in cities where you have a genetic factory or soemthing like that. As research progresses, ever more powerful Heroes become available. But Heroes are expensive like a mofo. But they can put a cramp in your enemy's army too.
