So first up I can't believe the follow post got locked on Steam. Bit of a wow moment for me. Hopefully, I won't get cancelled here.
I love Civ, hopefully played every variant and even 3 I found fun.
Now I'm not a deep player and as I have a busy life I don't have a lot of time to play.
So what I love about Civ 7 is the more narrative feel of it, and it feels like a table top game.
But when I'm in the mood for a complete domination by force game I don't get the same vibes.
I also wasn't completely happy to pay the extra to get hold of Great Britain, so of feels it should have been included in the game, to me it seems interesting to include USA over Great Britain when USA is such a young country, but was not unexpected.
So what I am after is some suggestions where I can play as my home country (Britain/UK), needs to be turn based and want to have a more fun risk-like domination feel.
Doesn't have to be a Sid game, but that would be the cherry on top.

In Europa Universalis IV pretty much everything is extremely different from Civ, and religion requires very little micromanagement, not to mention there are no victory mechanics in this game, it's pure sandbox. I would recommend you trying out this game if you want slow sandbox with the absolute freedom to conquer the world as historical Britain, the only thing that may convince you it's not for you is the sheer complexity of mechanics. Read some pages from the EU4 wiki or watch some gameplay videos from youtube about it.
