Yesterday, I got CIV: Complete, since CIV: Gold was too scratched up to install properly. However, when that menu install thing popped up, there wasn't an install choice, there was play. However, when I clicked play, it played... Colonization‽ (I had insall CIV: Col about a week ago). How can I uninstall CIV: Col so I can properly instal CIV: Complete?

I have the same problem when I insert the DVD after installation it only plays Colonization - not sure where to find program files..not sure what is going on..i am a completer newbie.. i am using windows vista..it also did not put any icons on the desktop?

I have the vista home premium 32 bit operating sysem. I did finally find the program files and made a shortcut for colonization but could not locate any files or anything that would allow me to do a shortcut for regular Civ. 4. maybe i should try re-installing? any suggestions.. i think i did see some folders for beyond the sword and warlords but they appeared empty...??? thanks for any help just got the game friday...

the install should have created
colonization in
\program files\2kgames\sid meier's civilization 4 colonization
and the program files for the other 3 games in
\program files\2kgames\sid meier's civilization 4
\program files\2kgames\sid meier's civilization 4\warlord
and
\program files\2kgames\sid meier's civilization 4\beyond the sword
respectively - are those folders empty?

when i open the program files for 2k games i get a file for fixasis games and when i open that there are two folders one for civ 4 complete and 1 for colonization. when i open the civ 4 complete there are two folders - 1 for warlords and one for beyond the sword; when i open the colonization folder there are a lot of files and that is where i found the shortcut etc.

It looks to me that only the colonization loaded right? Maybe try to reload?

I really appreciate the help..thanks...

do the following: uninstall the game then go to my computer and right click on the cd drive and choose explorer - then right click on the file called setup .exe and choose run as administrator - that should allow the install to complete.

Ori - IT WORKED!!!! based on your advice to run as administrator. thanks a lot for your help and patience. haven't got time to play them now but created shortcuts and they all loaded. i guess i will just go to the shortcuts now because it may still just try to load colonization in autoplay i read.. Anyway thanks again for your expertise...now to figure out the games later....
