I was Wonder-ing?

First of all, I want to thank all of the generous people in these forums. I expected that I would spend the rest of my life playing at Chieftan but last night I screwed up my courage and played a nice Wussy game at reagent - I'm not going to win but I'm not dead either.

My question -- in this game and once before, (on warlord) I am within a stone's throw of the enemies major Wonder-producing city. I would really, really like to take that city --I probably can - but I know I could not hold it. I want to take it and raze it to the ground - Wonders -be-gone.

What are the thoughts on this plan? So the russians are going to hate me - I can live with that as they will soon have a domination victory anyway.

Sounds like fun. I would take it, raze it, gaze admiringly at the chaos the loss of those wonders caused for a few turns, and then start a new game.

Wonders are located in big cities. If you can raze a big city, it means you can raze 1/3-1/2 of their empire. Don't think you lost before battling.
