Idea: advertisment

I think that it would be an idea (that will be shot down) to be ads in the forums.

Is it possible to make money off of ads? Like selling advertisment space? Some providers don't allow that and forbid you to do so

Right, they're at the bottom, but I was thinking in-between pages. Such as when you post, vote in polls, use the search function, report a post, or update your profile.

If it could I'm sure it could go to Thunderfall's ambitious dream of getting his own server and not having to rely on Telefragged

First off you make exactly zippo off any kind of ads anywhere. Secondly, popups were put in the forums at a point and well, that didnt go over so well. But uh i think that if TF would ask for donations, people would give.

I don't think TF relize's fully how loyal people he has searching and reading the post's in his site.....

There could be some problems if people gave donations. People may then think that they have "bought" rights, and hence behaviours may change, making the moderators jobs a lot more difficult.

I'd probably pay a small charge however.....

...unless it was a really small charge and you had to pay it to view and post on the forums...
