Ideas for Crisis

In my opinion, the current crisis do not offer a high level of danger to the player. My suggestions:
  1. Plague. 3 types of plague, minor, moderate, and severe. Duration is a range. 1-3, 2-5, and 3-10. While active in a settlement, kills a random amount of population (pillaging the districts as well). If the population hits 0, it becomes an abandoned settlement.
  2. Happiness. As time goes on, penalties become more severe. Settlements near other Civs revolt as normal. Settlements not near other civs, become independant cities (non aligned, can be conquered)
  3. Barbs. More of a threat. Conquered cities become independant cities.
On era changeover, on homeland continent, for each abandoned, independant city, gives a chance of a new Civ spawning (the more cities the higher the chance), with all of those cities becoming settlements. Otherwise they remain unaligned independant cities. Then Distant lands checked. If no new civ spawned, they have a chance to spawn a new civ.
If the antiquity to exploration does not spawn a new civ, the exploration to modern has a chance.
