I'm trying to make a simple graphic..

It's an elipse. I want the elipse only and not the white square box around it. Please somebody tell me how.

...erm, what drawing tool/piece of software are you using?

I'm not saying I know how to do it with your particular piece of software - but you are more likely to get a useful reply if you mention what you want to do it with.

paint shop pro, or gimp.

Well with paint you just use the botom option under the elipse tool (solid gray).

Post what you have, so we can get a grip on where your problem is.

I, for one, do not use PSP or Gimp, but Photoshop, so I wouldnt know what to say without some way to describe possible approaches on an image.

For instance: draw an elipse on a sheet of paper> color it> cut off the scrap. You're left with an elipse not a square piece of paper with an elipse colored on it.

Ah. Hm. An elipse on a transparent piece of gif, is that sufficient?

There is none.

In MSpaint there most definately is. It's the bottom left tool. Just use that. It does not form a rectange around the elipse.

Ah Sauron I saw paint and assumed you meant paint shop pro which was the program I was asking about.

But isn't that like telling somebody that wants to center text in word to open up notepad and press space x amount of times?

By the way I figured it out> save as .png. Then open Firefox, or Opera and it works as intended. Then convert it to a crap .gif if you want it seriously degraded but showing no border in IE.
