[IMM] Some Random Game Writeup [No Huts, No Random Events, large fractal]

Spoiler :
Now Minnea was the next target. It was originally a barb city I ignored, but looking it has a nice happy resource (whales), it's time to annex that one to the empire.

Parnormus was the next city to be besieged.

Of course, as typical Vercingetorix, he went to the positive side of his bipolar cycle or perhaps just felt too pressured by the war crimes perpetrated by Parpatua.

Nothing better than an AI leaving forests as a safe path to the city.

Da army marches and marches. Rome is at its victory peak!

It was without doubt that Carthage was about to collapse.

Panormus fell. And that was the second kept city since this is the final punic war.

Mannea fell too.

And here's the very final stage of the game: culture victory through assistance of espionage.
1) Reduce the AI to three cities or less.
2) Settle two cities the closest possible to the capital
3) Grow those cities to size 2 as the recapture will autoraze otherwise.
4) Seed each city with two GArtists (8000 culture)
5) Give those cities to a pathetic AI (Dido); if worst enemy, just give it as tribute
6) Thanks to distance, culture pressure because of capital's immense culture rate, possible religious discounts (max 40% discount), the final mission cost will be quite low without letting the spy wait (you simply can't since you are limited to 4 spies at a time). For the very two first spies, you can leave them in place in those cities while growing to size 2. Once gifted, you'll receive the minus 50% of discount. It's a bug, but a nice one just like amphibious spies.
7) Do you Culture Spread missions at a number of 20-21 succeeded attempts.
8) .....
9) Capture the cities
10) Profit

This is the first city to be settled.

And this is the second.

The first seed of 8000 culture.

For Ravenna, we can only do one, but let's wait for the next GArtist.

Let's hope the GArtist will arrive in duly time as Parpatua is radically winning the game. Don't forget: In TAM, a growing empire is a winning one, especially for an IMM+ AI.

Finally, we have reached the last necessary tech for culture.

YES! YES! Game over Parpatua. Rome will shine as the most sophisticated nation in the world.

Let Julius' refined cultural seed penetrate Carthage.

Spoiler :
In the end, Julius took liberties to start Irrigation techniques. That way, it shall boost our farms.

Since the technological stride was finished as much as the GArtist generation, the civics were swapped so to boost the economy at it's apex.

And to sceal the grandiose fame of Rome, Hadrian's wall project was commenced.

The very last roman GAge.

A new religious sect was about to rise.

The GProphet helped in this way.

A miracle happened: Parpatua was cut short in his volition to crush.

It was time to reduce Dido to a minimum of cities so she's willing to accept our tribute.

The second roman legio was marching towards Tharros.

As usual, the siege tower sacrificed itself to bait the army, so it was easier to take it out.

Divine Right to Julius. All hail to the emperor.

Julius decided to go all the way to make alliances.

Christianity.

A sad new arrived to Rome. Professional Army civic was a late civic attached to a strong war tech. Parpatua was near the end! The technological race between Parpatua and Rome was close.

Rusicade was the very last target to soften the Carthaginians.

Parpatua was converted to Greek Gods as Rome recently swapped to that religion, which is the same as Vercingetorix.

Tharros fell.

Rusicade fell.

Spoiler :
Finally, both Arretium and Ravenna reached size two. It was time to give tribute.

Don't worry, next turn, those two cities are going to be immensely overwhelmed by the superior roman culture. The awesome point of giving cities through diplomacy is they can't revolt back! They are coded and tagged like conquered cities.

Do you see it? Bam, 50% discount by standing in those two cities despite being mine before.

And both cities are crushed.

As expected, the first culture spread gives 400 culture (5% of 8000 is 400). See all those discounts. Almost nothing for distance from capital, 50% discount for our culture dominating the AI investment in those cities. Basically, waiting five turns are obsolete for the following spies.

Christianity era was reached.

Christian Carthage! No way!

Of course!

As not shown here in this writeup, lots of small trades were made to pursue the race against the top dog AI's.

Irrigation was learnt.

Already the next culture spread has definitely increased and with a culture seed, that goes fast.

Hadrian's walls! No real use of that wonder, but since we won, who cares!

Golgathia was initiated. Julius felt a renewal in his beliefs.

As expected, Christianity was prolific (reminder: the later the religion, the better are spread odds; christianity is a special case as it unlocks missionaries on top of that).

The race was tight. Parpatua was definitely reachint the end of the tech tree.

Of course, failing several culture spread was expected.

And for the lols, we got a new GArtist. A bit too late buddy.

We also see that the capital seems to sync extremely well with the rise of the two other LCities. In 11 turns, without culture slider, Rome will reach the legendary status. Obviously, that nice GArtist will be use for another LC while all spies will focus one.

Seeing both Ravenna and Arretium getting a lucky Heliopolitan Gods religion, Julius swapped back to his beginning beliefs. Combined to the fact Dido is still Animist, then those two cities had 40% discount.

Sometimes, that is infuriating.

Spoiler :
Christianity was spreading like wildfire.

So close.

Jesus was born and immediately crucified. We haven't had time to meet that guy.

Ten turns before receiving another GPeople. Perhaps luck will knock at our door.

Argghhh! Julius' ire was immense. Roman spies were quite pathetic.

Meanwhile, Parpatua almost reached half the course to China! Ouch ouch!

Of course, Dido likes to insinuate like weed.

Already, Arretium reached the state of an approximately 700 culture spread.

The Scythians were spreading through the world like locusts. It was time to crush the world with roman culture.

Indeed, Rome was puny. But Julius had a swift change of mindset. Christian morals changed his soul to a better man. It is not by the sword he shall conquer, but their superior culture.

He volunteered to give the secrets of his new faith to Parpatua for more gold.

Meanwhile, Sardeis was surrounded by imperial roads, making the city excessively prosperous.

Sardeius obviously reached the legendary status. The world aristocrats were in awe by the miracle of Sardeis. Even chained Kroisos fainted. Or perhaps because he was malnourrished.

The apostles wrote the holy book and Julius declared the book of reference.

Another miracle happened!!! Julius' praises to Gods worked.

It was time to elevate Julius to the seven heavens. He called Dido for that.

Arretium was captured.

Then Ravenna.

And the two GArtist made their final touch.

Rome was elevated and reached bliss.

Parpatua was close, but not so close thanks to the GArtist miracle. And it was frightening how close to the end of the tech he was! See that, almost like 4 remaining techs before finishing it. I don't even imagine a deity AI on TAM.

Julius was immortalized...

...As Augustus. "Who the hell is he?" he asked himself...

Excellent game again Tachy. Impressive!!! Thumbs up.
