Improvement Idea: Project Smoke of War on the Ground

Coronel_Civ3... Unfortunately a Wonder or Improvement would be inside a City rather than out on Terrain.

I am not understanding what you mean concerning an escort... escorts only apply to Ships, not land Units.

In a Scenario, a pre-placed immobile Unit that is made to look like a structure can be placed almost anywhere you like on the map and have Attack/Defense such as Bombardment. Naturally, it will be Attacked when at War, however it is your decision concerning placement and Attack/Defense settings.

It is the translator that fails, I am Spanish.

About the Maginot line, for example if you could make an upgrade (land upgrade, for example something like a fortress), add a new terrain upgrade, program it to work like the coastal fortress city upgrade, in such a way that When they pass through it, the artillery fires, it should be possible because, for example, a catapult in a mosaic of troops, when they are attacked, the catapult fires previously.

The ideal would be to do it as a terrain improvement, for one unit it may be easier to do it.

Coronel_Civ3... If the Unit is made to look like the Maginot or part of it and it is Pre-placed on the map, it should work as you want.

The Reason to Pre-place the Maginot and set it as immobile is if you built it in a City first, how would you get it on the map in the position wanted?
It would look very strange moving and also if it is not immobile it would move around in the game.

I think the easiest thing would be to do the following:

The Barricade can be built by workers and even military units, its defensive capacity is adjusted, its technology is modified to unlock it and specific units are created for these fortresses with bombardment capacity without requiring an escort. I think this could be done more or less.

Coronal_Civ3, can it be, that here you are thinking too complicated? Units inside a fortress still have the option to fire on bypassing enemy units by the ZOC option (zone of control). With other words: Fortresses still have the option you want to give to them. In both your suggestion and the existing fortress, the fortress needs to be manned by units to fire on bypassing units.

There is no problem to change the fortress graphics to Maginot graphics. :dunno:

I always look for options to add, as a last resort to replace.

In my scenario that I am testing little by little, when I incorporated the multiplesm units in the post I was focused on replacing the original unit with the multi unit, for example, from Warrior to several Warriors. And in my scenario I have the Warriors with the development of the Alphabet and I have the Warrior Company with the Warrior Code.

But yes, I complicate my life because I believe that this game has and will continue to have a lot of potential to exploit hahahaha.

I have a lot of ideas to contribute in my head... and sometimes I get scared. But I don't have that much talent to implement it and I need you ;)
